Wall art, 'Dogon Life' (Ghana)

The art of Mali's Dogon people inspire this wall panel by Issaka Ibrahim. It features lizards and turtles, who usually come out during the rainy season. "It depicts the women holding their bellies as a sign of motherhood, and the men are portrayed as being strong and able to look after their women," explains Ibrahim. He shapes the images with a mixture of charcoal and glue on a wood panel. It hangs with a cotton twine rope.
