The artist draws upon her years of experience practicing ballet for inspiration in this piece, and her knowledge of the art form is evident in her precise and poetic rendering of the dancer's body. Brushed bronze with granite base. Use damp cloth for cleaning. - Clean with a dry cloth About our Artist: Emne Al-Haje has had an intense relationship with art throughout her life. 'I studied architecture, I designed picture frames, lamps, ashtrays, household items, and others which reflect my aesthetic values, until I eventually reached sculpture. In my sculptures, I recognize the aesthetic influence of architecture in its concern with form and trying to simplify, and approximate the line. The sense of movement which most greatly impacts my pieces comes from ballet, which I practiced for many years.'
