Leather and ceramic pendant necklace, 'Nahual Destiny' (Honduras)

Maya mysticism inspires Alessandra Foletti in the design of this necklace. Pewter nahual charms glisten from two orange and two red suede leather cords: one is Kej, represented by a deer and symbolizing knowledge within power, and the other is E, representing the path of destiny. Silver plated beads separate ceramic beads in blue, beige, and black. They are crafted by hand by Honduran women from the Lenca community who are keen about preserving their artisan traditions. The necklace's length adjusts through a sliding knot. The ceramic beads are shaped by hand, therefore their contours may be slightly irregular.
