Cotton batik wall hanging, 'Justice' (Ghana)

Ghana's legendary adinkra symbols communicate popular wisdom. Depicted on the forehead of an African mask, Sepow means "the dagger or executioner's knife" in the Twi language of the Akan people. K. Baka works in batik on cotton to create this wall hanging in blue, brown and black. "This is a symbol of justice and punishment," he explains.
