Blue Butterfly and Floral Motif 100% Silk Handpainted Scarf

Dayu Menuhari realizes that crafting batik by hand with the traditional technique wherein a canting tool that dispenses thin lines of melted wax is used is quite laborious but she still chooses to do so. She states that even recurring patterns such as Bali's traditional motifs are all still hand-painted. Here she adeptly creates a butterfly and flower pattern on a 100% silk scarf in gorgeous sapphire and sky blue hues. She accents the design with time-honored parang motifs on the ends. The parang design once used exclusively by members of royal families consists of slanting rows of thick blade-like segments alternating with lines filled with symbols similar to lozenges.
