Brazilian Wedding Cookies (Casadinhos)

Aptly named casadinhos, the Portuguese word for married, these bite-size sandwich cookies are often served at weddings in Brazil. They're typically filled with dulce de leche, but Martha decided to go with guava (and to make the cookies heart-shaped!).

Mexican Wedding Cookies (Polvorones de Canela)

No, these aren't doughnuts! They're buttery, crumbly cutout cookies dusted (polvo means dust in Spanish) with a snowy mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon. Pair them with a glass of another cinnamon treat: horchata.
