  • Craft paint, by Martha Stewart Crafts, in Wild Blueberry, Carrot, Summer Haze, and Pea Shoot, $2 for 2 oz.,
  • Paintbrush
  • Painter's tape
  • Polyurethane

  1. Start with anything that has a wooden handle, like a hammer, trowel, or baseball bat. (If the wood is varnished, sand it lightly with finegrit paper.)
  2. Use painter's tape to cover areas you'd like to protect. Brush on craft paint, let it dry, and repeat as desired.
  3. Remove the tape; seal with a coat of polyurethane.
