Simple and Sleek
Kevin Sharkey, executive editorial director for decorating at Martha Stewart, gave his bathroom a complete renovation. He used tile on the walls to bring in texture and warmth, and also to create a visual transition between the dark stone floor and the white Corian shower and sink. He added an undersink shelf for additional storage.

Easy Elegance
In this bathroom, an ornate French chandelier both matches and mocks the space's serious design; its black-and-white color scheme is true to the period of the house. Hot-pink accents further jazz up the bathroom's look.

A Sunny Yellow Room
A crystal chandelier strikes a whimsical note above a free-standing tub, which was chosen for its modern-looking flat rim. The owner likes the worn silk rug because "you can stand on it with wet feet and it feels great." An antique painted tray table holds towels.
