Project
Cosmos Cloth Table Runner
We made two runners and crossed them over the center of the table; a full tablecloth or napkins could also be created using this technique.

steps
-
Cut and hem linen to desired runner size. Wash, dry, and press runner.
-
Print star-stencil templates. Place stencil paper on top and cut out with craft knife.
-
Spread out kraft paper and lay runner flat on top of it.
-
Fill spray bottle with a mix of 2 parts paint to 1 part water. Spray paint mixture all over fabric to create sporadic spatters of starlike dots (it’s a good idea to test this on a piece of scrap fabric first). Let dry.
-
Put some undiluted paint in dish. Use stencil brush to gently dab the paint onto the stencil to paint larger stars at random points along the spatters for a constellation look. Follow paint instructions to set.
