Starbursts and Meteors
Foil origami paper is metallic on one side only, so we folded ours to make it double-sided. Use decorative paper cutouts called Dresden stars to make the meteors.
Fold each piece of origami paper in half to make a rectangle, with the silver on the outside.
For circular starbursts: Starting from the short side, make accordion folds 3/8 inch wide. Snip off 1 end at an angle to create a point. Repeat to create 3 more accordions the same size, and cut at the same angle. Tape the long edges of the accordions together with angled ends at the bottom, then interlock and tape the edges of the first and last accordions to make a circle shape when fanned.
Punch 2 stars out of origami paper and hot-glue to the starburst’s center on both sides.
For meteors: Starting from the long side of the folded rectangle, make accordion folds 3/8 inch wide. Snip off 1 end at an angle to create a point. Hot-glue the uncut end of the accordion between 2 Dresden stars.
Use needle to make small holes in ornaments; add cord for hanging.
