Prince Charles and Camilla Have a Wedding Photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Their Living Room
Nearly four years have passed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, but two members of the royal family keep a reminder of this special day in their home at all times. According to People, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have a framed photo of the occasion in their living room; the image shows the Prince of Wales escorting Meghan towards Prince Harry at the altar during their royal nuptials, which unfolded on May 19, 2018. The photo, framed in white, can be seen in a snapshot taken at a recent event at the future king and queen consort's home. In it, Camilla welcomed professional rowers Kat Cordiner, Abby Johnston, and Charlotte Irving to Clarence House in London to chat with them about their work to raise funds for cancer charities.
It's a sweet memory (one that can be seen, in full, below): Prince Charles' role during his son and daughter-in-law's ceremony included escorting Meghan (partly) down the aisle in place of the Duchess of Sussex's father. Prince Harry told BBC that he had a hand in asking his dad to perform this tradition with his then bride-to-be leading up to the big day, and the future king "knew it was coming." The Duke of Sussex continued: "He immediately said, 'Yes, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you,'" the royal said in the interview. "For him that's a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he's our father so of course he's gonna be there for us."
In the moment, Prince Harry said, "Thank you, Pa," after his Prince Charles gave the bride away. "You've gotta say thank you. Just because he's my father that doesn't mean I can just sort of go, 'Okay, that's all, I'll take it from here," the Duke previously said of the sweet memory. "I was very grateful for him to be able to do that."
Prince Charles and Meghan have always shared a special bond; the Prince of Wales previously noted his admiration for her. He "takes enormous delight and pleasure" that she is married to his "beloved youngest son," an insider revealed in the tell-all book, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family ($11.99, goodreads.com). "She's bright and she's self-aware, and I can see why they've struck up a very quick friendship," the source added.
