What Should the Bride and Groom Wear to the Morning-After Brunch?

It's not as formal as the wedding, but you still want to dress the part.

Your ceremony and reception might be over, but the post-wedding brunch is still all about the two of you, and that means you should dress the part. Between all the pre-wedding parties and the big day itself, it's easy to understand why couples forget to choose a special outfit for this event, so think ahead and choose something well before the celebratory weekend arrives. These easy ideas for the bride and groom will ensure you attend your last wedding-related gathering in style.

Keep It Casual

Your post-wedding brunch tends to be a bit more casual than the rest of your events, so feel free to wear something that matches the tone of the gathering. For the bride, a sundress, romper, or jumpsuit feels appropriate for spring or summer; in the cooler months, jeans and a cozy sweater are absolutely fine. The groom can dress down, too. Wear shorts or lightweight pants and a comfortable shirt in the warmer months or jeans and a sweater or button down in the winter. And if you two are heading straight to the airport for your honeymoon after the brunch, you may want to wear something a bit more comfortable to travel in.

Choose Coordinating Outfits

You might not have a professional photographer at this event, but that doesn't mean family and friends won't be taking photos with and of you. For that reason, it's nice to choose outfits that coordinate—you don't need to match, but wearing colors or styles that complement each other is a good idea.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

The importance of comfortable, supportive footwear can't be underscored. You might not be dancing, but after a day of running around, giving your feet a rest is key. For the bride, swap heels for sandals or flats. For the groom, trade in dress shoes for a nice pair of sneakers or slip-on loafers.

Don't Forget the Wedding Bands

As far as accessories go, there are only two that really matter today: your wedding bands. Guests who didn't have a chance to see your new rings last night will be eager to see them today.
