Rich, creamy, and subtly scented with rose water, these goat milk soaps use the approachable melt and pour soapmaking method and come together easily for gifting or stocking the guest bath. Powdered goat's milk, along with almond oil and a creamy soap base create a moisture-rich bar, that we scented with food grade rose water (look for it in the baking aisle at health food stores). Just a pinch of rose clay tints these a pale pink color, while exfoliating, finely crushed walnut shells give each bar a pretty mottled texture. What You'll Need Materials Melt and pour soap base (Bramble Berry White Melt and Pour Soap Base) Rose water (Carlo Rose Water) Powdered goat milk (Bramble Berry Powdered Goat Milk) Rose clay (Bramble Berry Rose Clay) Sweet almond oil (Bramble Berry Sweet Almond Oil) Crushed walnut shells (Bramble Berry Walnut Shells) Isopropyl alcohol for spritzing Square silicone soap mold (Mose Cafolo Silicone Soap Mold) Two microwave-safe bowls Whisk Knife Instructions Olivia Kanaley Inman In a small bowl, combine 5 tablespoons rose water, 1/4 teaspoon rose clay and 2 1/2 tablespoons powdered goat milk. Whisk thoroughly until the powdered ingredients are fully dissolved in the rose water. Set aside. Olivia Kanaley Inman Cut a 1 pound block of soap base into 1-inch square cubes and place in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 15 seconds and stir. Repeat at intervals of 10 seconds until completely melted, making sure that the soap does not boil. Add the mixture from Step 1, along with 2 teaspoons of sweet almond oil. Olivia Kanaley Inman Add 4 teaspoons of crushed walnut shells to the melted mixture, and whisk to combine. Whisk continuously until the mixture cools to between 125 and 135 degrees. It will thicken slightly, and allow the crushed walnut shells to remain evenly suspended in the soap. Olivia Kanaley Inman Immediately pour the mixture into the silicone mold, and spritz the surface of the soap with isopropyl alcohol to remove any air bubbles. Allow the soap to cool and harden completely before removing from mold. Slice into 4 bars.
