Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Have Welcomed a Baby Boy—See His First Photo!
The royal couple announced that they were expecting back in September.
And baby makes three! Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank announced the arrival of their first child—and it's a boy. The royal couple took to social media to share the exciting news with a photo of the pair holding their newborn's hand, Us Weekly reports. The duo simply captioned the Instagram post with three blue heart emojis, confirming the little one's gender.
Buckingham Palace also confirmed the news, sharing that "Her Royal Highness and child are both doing well" in a statement. Princess Eugenie and Jack initially revealed on Instagram that they were expecting their new addition in September 2020, captioning their post: "Jack and I are so excited for early 2021." The palace also took part in relaying the news to the public with an official statement. "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021," the message read.
This marks another step in the couple's decade-long relationship. The pair became engaged in January 2018 in Nicaragua. Jack popped the question with a rare Padparadscha sapphire ring. "What's amazing about it—why I loved it so much—is it changes color from every different angle that you look at it," he explained during their post-engagement interview. Their pair exchanged vows at St. George's Chapel in October of the same year, and expressed shortly thereafter that they wanted to start a family as soon as possible, People reported previously.
With all of the excitement surrounding their little one's arrival, the pair is likely already looking towards his christening. According to Marie Claire, the couple will likely have a public church baptism. While the royal family typically holds these ceremonies in private and later shares images with the masses, the pair might celebrate the moment with the world (Princess Eugenie's parents did the same when she was born!).
