Even though news outlets just confirmed that Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers are dating, it appears that they might have taken the next step right under our noses. The NFL quarterback recently accepted the most valuable player award for the league's 2020 regular season, but he mentioned one exciting moment in his life to top it all off: his engagement. "It's an honor to win this award for the third time," Rodgers said, Entertainment Tonight reports. "2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments. I got engaged."

While he didn't mention Woodley by name, the athlete went on to share his gratitude for his team both on and off the field—which includes his soon-to-be wife. "I played some of the best football of my career," he said. "So I'd like to thank first and foremost my teammates for their support, inspiration, protection and incredible play on the field. The coaching staff for their efforts to make this fun every single week, the energy, the positivity and the daily presentations really kept us going. Off the field, I got a really great group of people that support me. So, I'd like to thank my team... my fiancée."

Even in the midst of all the engagement buzz, the pair hasn't confirmed or denied the rumors—but this isn't unusual for the quiet couple. "They have kept things private and low key," an insider previously told E! News. "They have seen each other and been in touch. They continue to talk and see each other when they can. They are both focused on their careers, but they also make time for each other."

Woodley and Rodgers' whirlwind romance has also improved the athlete's mental health for the better; he has a "new and increased love of life," he shared on the Pat McAfee Show. "I've made decisions and changes and habits that put me in a lot better headspace and there's just a lot of things that have come together in my life over the last few months that have really been enjoyable," Rodgers explained back in September 2020. "That's why I'm having so much fun and it starts with love. And then surrounding yourself with people that you really enjoy."
