Jennifer Lawrence Opened Up About Maintaining Friendships After Marriage
Her nuptials didn't change her relationship with her best friend, she says—they still have sleepovers!
Jennifer Lawrence has kept a low profile since tying the knot with her now-husband, Cooke Maroney, last October—but she did recently open up about something that hasn't changed since her married life started: her friendships. According to Entertainment Tonight, the actress joined Dear Media's Absolutely Not podcast this week and shared that sleepovers with her closest friends will always be a mainstay. "I'm married and I have slumber parties like once a week," Jennifer joked. "My friend came over [last night] and it was not planned, but she ended up spending the night and we slept in my bed and my husband slept in our guest."
Jennifer added that her husband is very understanding, though, and he knows the love she has for her friends runs deep. "He knows the drill. My best friend in the entire world, we used to have sleepovers all the time," she said. "Then she got married when we were pretty young. I was like, 24 and I was like, 'Well, I understand. It's going to change. You're going to get married.' She was like, 'Oh, it's not.' And we still, to this day—she's been married for seven years—we love a girly slumber."
She even had a sleepover for her bachelorette party—but there is one thing she would change if she got the chance to do it all over again. "I will say, I regret not planning a big one," the actress shared. "Because my friend was getting married close to me and I went to her bachelorette [party] and... it was the most fun weekend of my entire life."
Married life, nonetheless, has been filled with love and laughter for Jennifer and Cooke—especially during their downtime amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "I am actually a complete homebody and the laziest person who's ever lived," she said. "Like Cooke's biggest joke with me, he's like, 'Oh, you want to go directly back to the apartment babe?' Or like, 'Oh no, you have to stay in bed again today.'"
