In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, we're all in need of calm, relaxed vibes. From meditative hobbies like needlepointing and knitting to finding new ways to incorporate wellness into our everyday routines, this year is all about learning how to center ourselves amidst chaos. Now, Sherwin-Williams is offering another solution—the painting company released their ColorMix Forecast for 2021, including four palettes inspired by the rhythm of color. "Rhythm is the secret to how the natural world stays in step. The same sense of balance applies to our personal sense of nature through how we live—and how we design," says the brand.

The four paint palettes are called "Sanctuary," which features shades like Oakmoss, Modern Grey, Antiquarian Brown, and Pearl Grey; "Encounter," inspired by culture and artisan craft, includes hues like Rosemary, Reddened Earth, Naval, and Blustery Sky; mid-century modern "Continuum" features bright, happy shades such as Swimming, Novel Lilac, and Limón Fresco; and "Tapestry," which is vibrant take on maximalism featuring Alexandrite, Perfect Periwinkle, Jaipur Pink, and Cape Verde. "Colormix Color Forecast 2021…is designed to bring your own rendition of rhythm to beautiful life," according to the brand's brochure.

"The Sanctuary palette is about being rooted in peace, so it's the ideal palette to help create a safe haven at home," Sue Wadden, the brand's director of color marketing, told Architectural Digest. "During this unprecedented time, less is more. We're experiencing a pause that's called us to be mindful of how we're living."

Whether you redesign your bedroom in a simple array of warm, natural hues from the Sanctuary color palette or go bold with bright colors taken from Continuum, a bit of redecorating and fresh coat of paint could be just the thing we need to find a sense of peace at home.
