Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are adjusting to their new life Los Angeles, they are still taking time to celebrate important milestones along the way—the most recent of which was the Duchess of Sussex's birthday on August 4. According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry planned a cozy night in for just the two of them. "They spent the day as a family and in the evening Doria looked after Archie so that Meghan and [Prince] Harry could enjoy some couple time," an insider shared with the outlet. "Harry cooked Meghan a three-course dinner, but Doria helped him with the preparation."

The source added that, despite the Duke of Sussex's sweet gesture, he still has some work to do on his culinary skills: "While [Prince] Harry has become a better cook since marrying Meghan, he still has a long way to go!"

The festivities didn't stop there—Prince Harry also gifted his bride with custom pieces to mark her special day. "He wanted the gift to be personal, so he surprised Meghan with a necklace that he designed," the insider noted. "And a framed photograph of the two of them, which he took himself."

The insider told the outlet that a private celebration, in fact, was likely Meghan's preference to celebrate her birthday since she plans to have a "big, glamorous birthday party with all her friends for her 40th next year." In the meantime, the Duchess has been showered with many birthday wishes—including a sweet sentiment from her in-laws. "Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!" the royal family's official Instagram account posted.
