All It Took Was a Dance for Ryan Reynolds to Know Blake Lively Was "The One"
And maybe what came after...
GQ just released its Men of the Year December 2016 glossy with Ryan Reynolds as the cover star. And in an interview for the issue, the actor revealed something about his relationship we've all been dying to know-how he knew Blake Lively was "the one."
When asked how he realized "it was going to happen with Blake," the actor, as usual, shared a dose of his typical humor. "Probably after sex" was his first response (lol), but it didn't take long for him to unveil the romantic truth.
"No, we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that's open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, 'Want to dance?'" shared the Deadpool lead. "No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, 'Oh, I think I just crossed a line.' And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don't really need to go into what happened after that."
Is it just us, or is that a total Serena van der Woodsen moment come to life?
Turns out, he was right, because the couple's been going strong for years. Lively recently shared a photo from the 40th birthday party she planned for her husband, this time in another restaurant, which just so happened to be the same eatery where they fell in love.
For her part, Lively has said that the reason she married Reynolds was because "I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life." The actress told Marie Claire, "That was the biggest thing to me. I'd never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him."
