Now this what we call a great day off! Anthony Rizzo, all-star first baseman for the Chicago Cubs, took advantage of one of his free days during the MLB season to propose to longtime girlfriend Emily Vakos. Spoiler alert: She said yes!

According to Sports Illustrated, Rizzo popped the question yesterday evening before sharing the happy news with family, friends, and fans on Twitter. The Cubs player posted a sweet photo with his new fiancé with Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline in the background, captioning it, "Luckiest guy in the world! She said YES. Future Mr. & Mrs. Rizzo."

In January, Rizzo served as a groomsman when teammate and close friend Kris Bryant married Jessica Delp in Las Vegas. Fans of the baseball duo affectionately refer to them as "Bryzzo," so it was no surprise that Bryant was one of the first public well-wishers when the good news of Rizzo's engagement broke. "Congrats to these two," Bryant tweeted late last night.

All in all, Rizzo's announcement garnered over 30,000 likes, and many Cubs fans congratulated the elated couple on their newly-engaged status. But for many female fans, the news that the second half of the Bryzzo duo is officially off the market was met with mixed feelings. A few die-hard Rizzo supporters shared tweets with crying memes and photoshopped images that swapped Vakos face for theirs-hilarious and well-meaning posts that show just how much Cubs fans adore the first baseman.

There's no word on when or where these two will tie the knot, but we're only thinking about one thing: Will Bryant return Rizzo's favor and stand by his teammate on the big day? Only time will tell!
