Inside Our Chicago Wedding Party With Special Guest Lauren Conrad
Get the highlights from our third annual Chicago Wedding Party, where brides got big-day inspiration from top area vendors, plus wedding wisdom from LC herself.
Miniature cakes by Elysia Root Cakes pulled double-duty as place markers.
Paper Crown cofounders Maura McManus and Lauren Conrad sported Jansport backpacks for the event. “Showed up to the #marthaweddingparty like it was our first day of school,” Conrad wrote in an Instagram post.

Quite the Cake

Questions for Conrad
Conrad, the keynote speaker, sat down with Darcy Miller for a Q&A open to brides in attendance. “Nothing’s going to be perfect, and I think you really just have to go into it with that mind-set,” Conrad advised a bride who asked for tips on relaxing and enjoying the day. “This is going to be the best day. Not everything’s going to go perfectly, but no one’s going to know.”
“One of my favorite things about [my] wedding were the favors,” Conrad shared. “They were amazing. Martha Stewart Weddings was kind enough to work with us on them. They really took the time to make it specific to us.”
Elan Artists band provided the party entertainment.
Guests sipped drinks by Deca, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago mixologist.
Anthony Luscia, Darcy Miller, Claudia Hanlin, Rebecca Lockward, and Josh Friedman got together for a group photo at Oh Snap! slow motion photo booth.
The same group got a spontaneous shot, complete with Spin-Spun cotton candy.
