Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Reportedly Returning to the United Kingdom Next Month
Queen Elizabeth is said to have requested their presence at Commonwealth Day events.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who historically stepped back from their duties as senior members of the British royal family, are being summoned back across the pond for one more engagement before they fully embark on their independent life in Vancouver, Canada. Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly requested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who no longer use the titles of "their royal highnesses," to join the family at Westminster Abbey on March 9 for the annual Commonwealth service, People notes. Young Archie, who will be 10 months old at the time of the service, is expected to attend along with his parents.
It is presumed that the couple will promptly return to Canada following their appearance in London. In recent weeks, the new parents have been staying at a mansion on Vancouver Island as they begin to settle into a post-royal life. "They are enjoying living a quiet life," an insider revealed to the outlet. "They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs."
Another source opened up to the outlet, revealing that, "Archie is the priority. It's very much still about taking care of him and putting the family first. He's a happy kid—he loves to laugh," an insider said. "Archie and Harry have such a good time together. And Meghan is a great mom. She's very much about tending to him. They are trying to live their life as regular parents."
Although the couple has been keeping a relatively low profile since their monumental exit, they took a quick trip to Miami last week where they made their first joint public appearance since transitioning from royal to private life.
