What Your Personality Says About Your Wedding

Not sure where to begin planning your big day? Look to the stars for guidance! Understanding your astrological sign as it relates to your big day isn't just fun; it's also one of our favorite ways to ignite the spark of inspiration that gets the ball rolling when you're at a total loss. And if you already have any idea of what you like, we think you'll find that seeing what the stars have in mind for your big day can still be helpful—in fact, looking at your wedding from an astrological standpoint is a great way to fill in any of those missing pieces in your overall plan. If you want a highly personalized ceremony and reception, there's no better way to plan than by selecting details that reflect who you are as a person.

Since not everyone understands the zodiac, we went straight to an expert for her take on all things astrology and weddings. Here, astrologer and life coach Tracey Rodgers takes us through each sign and shares an her best predictions for weddings based on each star sign. While details like your rising sign can always make slight differences within your own sign, there are some elements that hold true across the board.

So, if you find that you need help choosing a venue, selecting a wedding dress, deciding on a honeymoon locale, or planning your reception flowers, read on to find out what's written in the stars for you. Just be sure to check your soon-to-be spouse's astrological predictions, too—a wedding is about the two of you, after all! You'll want to design a celebration that reflects both of your zodiac signs.

Aries

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Aries Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

As the first sign in the zodiac, you're accustomed to forging ahead and trailblazing. This confident determination is a quality that pops up in many aspects of wedding planning and has a profound effect on your decisions on everything from your engagement ring to the wedding venue and beyond. A lover of new experiences, Rodgers says you aren't drained or overwhelmed by number of tasks you have to complete—on the contrary, you're energized and ready to tackle it all step by step. But if you'd always envisioned a restful beach honeymoon after all the work is done, our expert's predictions say you may want to think again.

While you're busy crossing items off your to-do list, don't let blind ambition affect your relationship with vendors. As a sometimes-stubborn ram, it's easy to become headstrong in your options and to wear people down with your persistence. Remember that good relationships are what will make your big day unfold more effortlessly than anything else. If one thing is certain, it's that your wedding day will be unlike anyone else's.

Taurus

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Taurus Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

With so much going on, many brides find themselves either micromanaging every last detail or giving up and leaving it to fate (or their wedding planner). But you don't fall into either camp. Instead, you pick and choose the details that matter and give them your all, while conserving energy on the stuff that doesn't rate on your priority list. It's a wise approach to take, especially considering the fact that wedding planning is really a marathon, not a sprint.

As a Taurus bride-to-be, Rodgers notes you're destined to have good taste—and it's a quality that extends into both day-of fashion and the reception menu. You're a people pleaser, so it's no surprise that you'd aim to have the best wedding food in recent memory. Just don't let your taste for the finer things in life blind you—getting swept up in the materialistic side of things is a surefire way to miss out on all the fun to be had.

Gemini

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Gemini Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

Your wedding in one word? Unpredictable. Geminis are notoriously hard to nail down or put into boxes, so when your save-the-date arrives in the mail, guests simply won't know what to expect. The good news is that your big day is essentially a blank slate for you to experiment with and explore. The bad news? The opportunities are overwhelmingly, cripplingly endless. But fear not—Rodgers has a clear sense of quite a few things to lead you in the right direction, especially when it comes to your engagement ring and the wedding cake.

Try not to get caught up in the ups-and-downs of planning. Not everything is going to go according to plan! You know better than anyone that a woman is entitled to change her mind, and you are no different. Spend plenty of time in the research phase beforehand, talk to friends, and get advice before making your final decision—although Rodgers notes there's one detail you don't have to decide about at all.

Cancer

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Cancer Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

You may be a crab, but that description couldn't be more misleading. As the most nurturing and sensitive of signs, people often flock to you for comfort and reassurance. During wedding planning, however, you may find that you're the one in need of counsel. While it's okay to rely on your family and friends, trust in your instincts and believe that you truly know what's best (spoiler alert: you do).

Family is the key word of your big day, and it wields its influence on everything from venue to dress and beyond. It's an appropriate theme to have woven through a moment where a new family is being formed—just be careful not to force your loved ones to care about your wedding quite as much as you do. While everyone is no-doubt thrilled for the big day, odds are only you care which color the napkin rings should be. And that's fine, because you won't care either once you get to the relaxing oasis Rodgers has pinned as your honeymoon destination.

Leo

The Leo Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

When the big day arrives, Rodgers says the Leo bride comes in like a lion. You're not one to shy away from the spotlight and today is your chance to shine. Just be careful not to lose yourself in all the drama of the day. After all, there is another person standing up at the altar with you, and it's the relationship that makes this day special—not all the bells and whistles.

While you may be surprised by our expert's guess for your bridal party, trust in your creative instincts. You are the ultimate entertainer, so many of your decisions will be based upon your guests' enjoyment and happiness, which is a quality that never goes unnoticed.

Virgo

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Virgo Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

A multitasker at heart, it's almost as if the Virgo bride was designed to plan a wedding with its numerous to-do lists, moving deadlines, loads of record keeping, and seat-assigning. Just be sure you don't wear yourself down in the process. Your sky-high standards will be evident in the outcome of your day, and the tiny tweaks only you would notice will all be perfectly aligned. Trust in that and believe it instead of getting caught-up in the never ending spiral of, "What if my gown doesn't fit?" and "What if it rains?"

You're likely not one to indulge in crash diets before the big day because you understand the importance of health and wellness, and thats why we think you'll quite enjoy the relaxing, indulgent honeymoon locale Rodgers says the stars have appointed for you.

Libra

The Libra Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

As the ultimate peacemaker, wedding planning will put the Libra bride's diplomatic skills to the test. It's also an opportunity to show off your meticulous taste and eye for details. You've always been one to beautify—whether it's yourself or an expertly wrapped gift. Some just have that special touch, and you are one of them. With a strong sense of who you are, your wedding celebration will be a pure reflection of your style—and guests will be sure to take notes!

If you haven't ironed out the finer details yet, you'll be pleased to know that Rodgers has a lot of thoughts when it comes to your ring and wedding cake, but it's her interesting take on the number of friends in the bridal party that we think you should pay close attention to.

Scorpio

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Scorpio Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

Odds are, this wedding is a long time in the making. You, Scorpio bride, are the mysterious one of the zodiac, so people truly don't know what to expect on your wedding day. Along with that mystery comes a loyalty and passion few can match, so it's bound to be a day full of heartfelt details. It seems Scorpio leans toward the unconventional side of planning—so prepare your friends and family for a celebration the likes of which they've never seen before.

Before you start making any plans, see what Rodgers says the stars have in store for you. Especially when it comes to your ring, we think you might be surprised by her predictions.

You might stress out vendors with your grand ambitions but your vision is always spot on. You've always taken pride in being the social chair for your friends, so it's no surprise you're determined to make your wedding the event of the year.

Rodgers has grand plans in store for your big day, so pay close attention to the exciting, adventurous predictions she has on everything from your gown to the venue. Bonus: Your star sign is associated with the most unique honeymoon suggestion we've ever heard.

Capricorn

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Capricorn Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

With so much on your plate at any given moment, it almost seems inconceivable that you can add planning a wedding to your busy schedule—but you'll do it with grace. As the determined, steely goat you are, you likely won't trust anyone else to organize the day to your sky-high standards. While it's possible to be a little too harsh on well-meaning advice givers, we know it's all for a good cause. The Capricorn bash is less focused on the bride and groom and more so about ensuring all of your guests have a great time.

All those crazy months of planning will soon come to an end, however, and we're thinking you'll quite enjoy the honeymoon Rodgers says that your sign dictates you're destined to take.

Aquarius

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Aquarius Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

Your wedding day is a blank slate, just waiting to be filled by your innovative mind. A true original, the Aquarius bride doesn't do anything because they're "supposed" to. Instead of following tradition, you use your gut as the ultimate guide. As a result, your day will be a celebration that is perfectly, uniquely you. Luckily, you're not someone who is just ideas and no action. Somehow, you're the perfect combination of creative dreamer and pragmatic problem solver all in one.

Plus, with your gifted social skills, it'll be easier than you expect to get people to rally around even your wildest ideas. That's especially true when it comes to the unique honeymoon Rodgers has predicted.

Pisces

Credit: Amanda Mustard
The Pisces Bride's Ultimate Guide to Wedding Planning

Often described as an old soul, the Pisces bride is all about bringing out the emotion of this paramount day. All of your thinking and planning will go toward ensuring the comfort of your guests and keeping all eyes on the most important elements of the ceremony. While planning will no-doubt become the biggest part of your life for a bit of time, be careful to not let it take over. You're prone to giving things your whole heart and whole attention, so be sure to give yourself the same love and care during this time you always offer everyone else.

If you're not sure where to start, pay attention to Rodgers' influential tips on your honeymoon, venue, invitations, and beyond. She even has strong feelings on your color scheme, and once you see what it is, it all makes perfect sense.
