This Bride's First Look with Her Brother Left Everyone in Tears
It's the most emotional thing you'll see all day.
While many couples opt for a first look with their soon-to-be spouse prior to their wedding ceremony, alternative first looks with other family members and loved ones are growing in popularity. From a big wedding dress reveal with your bridesmaids to a tender moment with your parents or grandparents, many brides see this as an opportunity to pause and share a meaningful memory amidst a busy wedding day. For one bride, she knew exactly with whom she wanted to share a first look: her brother. And the images captured by Kelsey Gene Photography of the brother-sister first look revealed just how heartwarming their shared moment was.
When recent bride Ashley Rice was planning her wedding to then-fiancé Brian Seder she was "intrigued" by first look photos, she revealed to Good Morning America. However, she had long dreamed of not seeing her groom until the ceremony. "I had always imagined us seeing each other as I walked down the aisle. I was chatting with a friend at work about what I should do, and she instantly said, 'Well you obviously need to do one with your brother,' and it just clicked," she said.
The bride’s brother Nick Rice, who has Down syndrome, is her "best friend," she revealed to the outlet. "My relationship with Nick is a beautiful one, but also a normal one. I'm his biggest supporter and we love each other fiercely. But, he is still my little brother and we do normal things that brothers and sisters do. We bicker and we annoy each other. We frustrate each other at times, and then the next day they are forgotten, and we're back to normal, and that's normal. At least it is for us," she said.
When the wedding came arrived, the bride, now Ashley Sedar, recalls that her brother was initially "speechless." Then, Sedar said, "He said, 'You are the most indescribable person in the world. I can't even describe it.' It was very sweet and we were both in tears. I'll never forget it."
