Find Out Who's Performing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding Ceremony
The royal family has been keeping us busy this week! Yesterday, Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed their third child. Meanwhile, news broke that Pippa Middleton and James Matthews are expecting. Now, the attention's back on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. No, there's not another baby on the way, but there is a new development in their upcoming wedding.
Kensington Palace just released information regarding the couple's wedding entertainment. Specifically, the ceremony performers have been revealed to the public. As expected, the event's music will be as a grand as the rest of the celebration. According to the statement, "Both Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their Service, which will include a number of well-known hymns and choral works." Additionally, "A selection of choral groups, soloists, and musicians will perform."
James Vivian, the director of music at St. George's Chapel, will be overseeing the entertainment, which includes the St. George's Chapel choir. Other performers include the 19-year-old winner of BBC Young Musician 2016, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Karen Gisbon and her gospel group, The Kingdom Choir, and Luke Bond, the assistant director of music at St. George's Chapel, on the organ. A high-profile orchestra and state trumpeters round out the group.
"The Choristers, Lay Clerks, Organists and I are very much looking forward to this exciting day and are pleased to be performing," Vivian shared in a statement. "We are also looking forward to welcoming to St George's musical colleagues from near and far who will be performing at this very special and joyful occasion." Now, can we please know more about the reception music?
