It starts in the kitchen.

Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been together for three-plus decades, so they clearly know how to keep the romance alive. Although they get dressed up for their fair share of star-studded events, their favorite date night activity is surprisingly relaxed. According to the humanitarian, she and her life partner's most cherished moments happen right at home in their kitchen, reports E! News.

During a recent interview on O The Oprah Magazine's Instagram account, Oprah answered several followers' questions, including how she and her longtime boyfriend make one-on-one time feel special. According to the talk show host, the basis of a strong date night starts with a go-to meal. "My favorite date night is to make him black-eyed peas and cornbread as a surprise for dinner and then, honey, hush, that's all you need," she laughed.

These two foods might be Stedman's favorites, but he typically enjoys anything she whips up, she continued. "No matter what it is-even if it's a piece of toast. Like the other day, I made an English muffin and he's like, 'Where did you get this English muffin?' and I'm like, 'It's an English muffin,'" Oprah joked.

It's been nothing but years of fun meals and good times for this long-term duo. Stedman and Oprah first crossed paths in 1986, at the dawn of the celebrity's career. Though the businessman allegedly proposed to the media mogul in 1992, they've never tied the knot-and they intend to keep it that way. For both parties, a marriage contract wasn't a requirement for a strong, enduring bond. "I'm with a very special person who is-she's just so unbelievable," Stedman told CNN in 2012. "I just support her in her life. And she supports me in my life."
