Bow Ring, Necklace, and Bracelet
THE TOOLS
- Wire Jewelry Kit (makes multiple rings and bows), or the following:
- Round wire
- Round-nose pliers
- Cable chain
- Chain-nose pliers
- Semi flush clippers
- Jump rings
- Lobster clasp
FOR THE BOW-SHAPED NECKLACE OR BRACELET
1. To create the wire bow for your necklace or bracelet, start by cutting approximately 5 inches of wire.
2. Bend the first loop of wire over the round-nose pliers.
3. Bend the second loop in the opposite direction. You'll start to notice your bow taking shape; adjust so that your loops are even.
4. Take the end of the left loop and wrap it around the center one time, pulling tight.
5. Once you have the bow to your liking, trim the ends of the wire. If the ends are sharp, you can file them down to create dull edges.
6. Now that your bow is complete, it's time to connect the clasp and the bow to your chain using pliers and jump rings.
7. Adjust the chain accordingly, depending on if it's for a necklace or bracelet.
FOR THE BOW-SHAPED RING
1. Cut 6 inches of wire for your ring. In the middle of the wire, create a loop to fit your finger.
2. With your round pliers, grab the top wire and bend it over the top of the pliers to create the right loop of the bow.
3. Grab the bottom wire. Bend over the top of the pliers to create the second loop.
4. Take the end of the left loop and wrap around the center, through the ring, pulling tightly.
5. Once you have the bow to your liking, trim the ends of the wire. If the ends are sharp, you can file them down to create dull edges.
It's that easy! Wear the ring alone or stacked with some simple bands.
