Erin Andrews Chose Her Wedding Date Based on Hockey Season
It looks like Erin Andrews and fiancé Jarret Stole are planning to tie the knot within the next few weeks! The personality spilled to Elite Daily about her planning process, and revealed tons of details about the big day. When asked how she was finding time to prep, Andrews responded "I have no idea." The Dancing with the Stars co-host has hired a wedding planner, and her nuptials are "literally in a week and a half" (!!!). She admitted that it's "crunch time." And we can see why!
The couple-Andrews, a Fox Sports reporter, and Stole, a hockey player-had a very tight wedding-date window. "But for us it was just like-we have a lot of friends that play in the NHL-so really the only time you can get married is in the summer," she said. "And you never know if your friends are going to win the [Stanley] Cup which, bougie problems, but you don't, so you typically have now until July before camp starts up," she shared.
She's also enlisting help from a planning dream-team, made up of fiancé Stole and her wedding planner. "I'm lucky because my guy was really involved in all the planning. I mean, even yesterday he's in Ireland golfing and I was sending him, 'Do you like this calligraphy?'" she revealed. "I mean, my guy was like, he wants to be involved in it all, so I feel like I was very fortunate along the way because he was into every little detail and he wanted to pick the menu and like we sat there with our DJ list and picked out all the songs and everything."
Her planner has also been key in the prep, offering advice and guidance along the way. "It's hilarious, my wedding planner texted me yesterday and she said, 'I know you're a total tomboy, but do you like this design?' And it was something very girly and I wrote her back and I said, 'I actually do. Do you like it?' And she said, 'I wouldn't send you anything I didn't like,'" Andrews recalled. If it wasn't already clear, Andrews isn't "the girl that like dreamt of the wedding." "For us, it was just kind of like, we wanted it to be so much about our personalities and about our friends-our friends are huge in our life-and like what we like to do with them," she added. The host's least favorite part of planning is pleasing everybody, while her favorite is knowing that she'll be spending time with her loved ones.
Andrews also revealed one detail she took the reins on: a nostalgic, childhood-favorite wedding cake. "Duncan Hines Yellow Cake [with] chocolate frosting. That's all I wanted. I realized everybody's like super excited about tastings and stuff and I was like, 'Guys, no offense. I want Duncan Hines Yellow Cake [with] chocolate frosting,'" she shared.
Andrews and Stole got engaged last December when Stole popped the question in Disneyland. Andrews described the engagement as "really fast," which may have had something to do with her health. The reporter, who faced a struggle with cervical cancer, reflected on the experience in a Health interview. "If anything, it was a huge step for my relationship with my boyfriend at the time," she revealed back then. "We hadn't even been discussing marriage. We hadn't discussed babies! It really puts things on the fast track for you-because you have an oncologist saying to you, 'We highly recommend that you guys do your embryos right now, freeze them.' I'm like, 'Hi, hon. I love you. I hope we're spending our lives together.' And he was amazing," she admitted.
After a whirlwind of life changes, we're glad Andrews is feeling great, and we're so excited for the wedding.
