Laure de Sagazan
/*-->*/French designer Laure de Sagazan is known for creating elegant wedding dresses with a mix of different embroideries and patterns, lending a retro charm to her collections. While she's relatively new to the world of bridal design, Laure de Sagazan's dresses have a distinctly old-school vibe, combining modern (and sometimes daring!) silhouettes with more romantic, antique-inspired fabrics. With that in mind, her ideal celebrity brides are a no-brainer: "I would have loved to dress Kate Moss of Vanessa Paradis, two personalities with true style an affinity for the vintage look," the designer tells Martha Stewart Weddings.
Her latest collection of wedding dress was inspired by the literary classics, namely Jane Austen. "I wanted to mix very romantic silhouettes straight out of a Jane Austen novel—delicate embroidery and poetic silhouettes—with more folkloric details, with a Cuban feel through the accumulation of bracelets, bold earrings, and voluminous flower crowns," she says. While there's no shortage of stunning wedding dresses here, the designer chose her resounding favorite, telling us that the "Wagner" gown has her heart. "It's my favorite for the boldness and the character that it portrays," she says. "This is a strong piece that exudes confidence when wearing it. The combination pant suit is new and modern but at the same time it has all the classic details of the wedding dress."
As for Laure de Sagazan's favorite thing about designing wedding dresses, she tell us that it's all about the bride. "Without a doubt, my favorite part is the look in the eyes on the bride when they find the one!"
