9 Dog Breeds That Look Like Puppies Even When They're Fully Grown

9 Dog Breeds That Look Like Puppies Even When They're Fully Grown

Puppies are irresistible. We fall in love with their big eyes, little button noses, fluffy tails, and clumsy paws. And yet, like any pet, puppies grow up and turn into dogs. Some breeds, like the Old English Sheepdog or Great Dane, will grow to become larger in size than most people. But not all dogs are destined to become giants. There are some breeds that stay small in size even when they're fully grown. You may want a forever puppy if you are used to smaller animals. Maybe you have a small apartment or just want a canine companion that you can easily carry along with you anywhere you go. Small dogs are also great for families with young children or those of senior age who are best matched with a breed they can physically handle. Fortunately, some specialty dog breeds are mixed to look like puppies throughout their entire lives—and they are sure to melt your heart the second you lay your eyes on them.

It was a beautiful day in Central Park when Kelly Brady and Daniel Rosen arrived at 7 a.m. for two full hours of watching their dog Guinnie run off leash alongside dozens of other happy pups. They made their way up to the Great Lawn, and headed towards a vibrant red-leafed tree they spotted. Kelly (the CEO of a PR and social media firm) thought that Daniel (a journalist) was reaching down to fix Guinnie's collar, and was so wowed by the foliage, that she had no idea that he was actually on bended knee to pop the question.

Just six months later, on June 10, 2017, the couple and their 160 guests (Guinnie included), headed to Montauk, New York, for more picturesque scenery and another momentous occasion. Daniel had spent his childhood summers in the beachside town, and he and Kelly had rented a vacation house there in the summer of 2015. They rented the same home for their big day, and got married right next door on the beach with a reception at Rick's Crabby Cowboy Café.

The style played up Kelly's coastal aesthetic (a combo of San Diego and Montauk) with some bohemian and rustic elements. Macramé and dream catchers merged with driftwood, succulents, and mercury glass, with colors inspired by the sunsets so often seen during their time on Long Island's east end—pale pinks and periwinkle. And speaking of the skies, the most magical moon rose over the celebration for all to enjoy.

Dressed to Impress

Daniel sported a deep blue Freemans Sporting Club suit, which he paired with a Kamakura Shirts shirt, J.Crew tie, Billybelt belt, Stance socks, and Viberg loafers. "I knew I wanted to get a bespoke suit for the wedding," says the groom. "But as I wanted to wear it more than once, I steered away from tan or another unique shade that I could only wear a handful of times." The crew at Freemans helped him settle on a vibrant navy mohair number.

One of Kelly's best friends, Leila Shams, designed her wedding dress—a double-V neckline in sheer, off-white tulle, with blush-pink lining. It was hand embroidered with soft cotton thread with a pattern incorporating morning glories, ivy, and birds. Tiny beads were sprinkled over the entire gown for a bit of sparkle, with rhinestones dotting the neckline and belt. She accessorized with diamond jewelry and nude Manolo Blahnik shoes. To control her hair amidst the coastal winds, she went with a loose braid, tucking in petite blooms down the back. The bride's mostly-ivory bouquet had a few pops of ice blue; Karen Lenahan Designs incorporated tweedia, peonies, ranunuculus, astilbe, sweet peas, and succulents.

It's Time

Kelly stashed her stuff in a Charlotte Olympia box-clutch in the likeness of a clock. "I love the clock because it symbolizes standing the test of time, and the wedding was the start of our life together—symbolizing our endless love," says the bride, who stashed her Winky Lux lipstick and Luma highlighter inside.

17 Jewish Wedding Traditions for Your Big Day

The chuppah was erected on Montauk's East Lake beach, in between the couple's summer house and the Montauk Bungalows (where many of the guests stayed). The driftwood structure was adorned with white blooms and trailing greenery. "A 1000 Times" by Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam played during the processional, before the Rolling Stones' "She's Like a Rainbow" played as Kelly entered with her mother. The Jewish ceremony included the traditional reading of the seven blessings.

The newlyweds recessed up the aisle to Ben Harper's "Forever," as guests tossed lavender in celebration. Right after, they headed to the dock and hopped on a boat for a ride on the water—it was one of Kelly's favorite parts of the day. "We ventured out towards the lighthouse, and I loved seeing all our friends on the dock, waving, and taking photos," says the bride.

Cocktail Hour

A variety of passed appetizers were served during cocktail hour: mini lobster rolls, seafood gazpacho with chili lime-grilled shrimp, roasted pear pizzettes, and because the bride is from California where no party is complete without tacos, these mini ahi tuna tacos (and Long Island duck confit mini tacos) were served, too.

The existing bar was used for cocktail hour, and adding to the beachy vibe of the festivities. There was another bar, too, but it was dedicated to burrata. The interactive station allowed guests to top the cheese with fire-roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled veggies, balsamic glazes, sea salts, and more.

20 Ways to Rock Your Wedding Using Geodes, Crystals, and Stones

The bride and groom handpicked a selection of rocks along a small stretch of Montauk's beaches, and then Kelly wrote each guest's name using paint pens so they could serve as escort cards (and keepsakes). Attendees also took home beach blankets that were passed out as the sun went down and fragrance rollers by Montauk Mist in the scent of "ditch plains," which the bride chose because it smells like the beach and reminds her of suntan lotion.

Dinner on the Lawn

The beachy, boho, rustic style continued through to the reception, where wooden chairs and farm tables were set with rattan chargers and stemless glassware. Lanterns held pillar candles next to mercury glass bud vases of mostly white blooms, with a few succulents scattered throughout. The roses were used as a nod to the groom's last name of Rosen. The meal began with a plated salad of watermelon, arugula, cucumber, feta, and mint; and family-style entrées and sides followed.

The First Dance

A cover of Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" by Jon Stone from American Young played as the couple had their first dance at dusk. It was fitting since, later in the evening, the pair stepped out to catch some fresh air and above them was a full moon that was glowing red. "It was kismet," Daniel says of the occurrence and his most memorable part of the celebration.

Kelly then shared a dance with her mom to "Surfer Girl" by the Beach Boys.
