"Queer Eye" Star Jonathan Van Ness Just Officiated a Wedding
The comedian oversaw the nuptials of Doug the Pug's (human!) parents, Leslie Mosier and Rob Chianelli.
In addition to changing people's lives on Queer Eye, Jonathan Van Ness officially has the power to bring them together in matrimony. The hairstylist-turned-comedian recently presided over a very important ceremony: The marriage of Leslie Mosier and Rob Chianelli, the owners of the Instagram-famous pup, Doug the Pug.
As it turns out, the canine Internet sensation was instrumental in securing Van Ness' involvement in Mosier and Chianelli's big day. The pug's parents messaged the comedian on Instagram, from the pup's account, of course, asking if he'd be willing to oversee the service. Van Ness was more than willing to help out. "Jonathan had never officiated a wedding before, he got ordained just for us," Mosier told People. "He brought such an amazing energy to the whole wedding, he was so kind and helpful."
Van Ness even offered his hairstyling expertise when the bride experienced a bridal beauty emergency. "When my hair started coming out he even fixed it!" Mosier explained.
The comedian later wrote about the experience in a post on Instagram, where he shared a few photos from the event and thanked the couple for asking him and his plus-one (boyfriend Wilco Froneman) to take part in the festivities: "@itsdougthepug and I officiated a very special day yesterday for his parents @lesliemosier & @robchianelli, thanks for including Wilco & I in your special day & I hope I gave you the high priestess vibez you were looking for Leslie & Rob!! love you three."
