The Oscar-winning actress revealed the news—and debuted her engagement ring—on her now-fiancé's Instagram.

Love is in the air for Emma Stone and her fiancé Dave McCary: The couple just announced their engagement on Instagram. In a post on McCary’s account, Stone is pictured flashing a diamond engagement ring with a twisted platinum band. Neither Stone nor McCary has revealed any details about the proposal, but they're clearly overjoyed—a sentiment the actress' fiancé summed up in the post's caption, with a simple heart emoji.

According to E! News, Stone and McCary have been dating since 2017. The duo allegedly met back in 2016 after Stone hosted Saturday Night Live, where McCary serves as a writer and segment producer. The actress even starred in the "Wells for Boys" sketch her future husband directed for the episode.

Stone was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Andrew Garfield. They dated for approximately four years up until 2015. The two have maintained their friendship after dating, according to People. "There was no drama, they’ve been apart while working. They still care about each other," a source previously shared with the outlet. "They still have love for one another. They are on good terms with each other and remain close."

While Stone has yet to officially comment on her engagement, she shared her take on marriage and having a family back in 2018. In an interview with Elle she stated, "My perspective about kids has changed as I've gotten older. I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I'm never getting married, I'm never having kids," she said. "And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids."
