You may only get married once, but Bridal Fashion Week happens twice a year,Ā meaning innovative ideas—and new takes on old ideas—are forever renewing.Ā Of course, we love the classics,Ā but we're always searching for fresh silhouettes, colors, and details that make us do a double-take.Ā From lingerie-inspired elementsĀ to capes and capelets, here's whatĀ new wedding dressĀ styles we noticed at Spring 2017Ā Bridal Fashion Week.
3-D Embellishments
Three-dimensional details have the ability to transform a wedding dress into a work of art. This spring especially, we saw an explosion of texture by way of beading, appliqués, feathers, and more that seemed to reach right off the runways and into our hearts. Next stop: your closet!

Capes and Capelets
Brides,Ā bow down to the most regal of wedding accessories since the tiara: The cape and the capelet. Just in time for theĀ generation that made "Yas, Queen" more than a statement but a state of mind, theĀ VictorianĀ piece is back and better than ever. This season'sĀ lovely caped creations offer coverage like a coat or stoleĀ and cascade down the back like a veil.

Separates
It's official: Separates are here to stay. Whether sets of skirts and crop tops or pants and blouses, the nontraditional wedding look is a surefire way to stand out on the big day. This season'sĀ sets are super fun and flirty yet still refined and elegant enough for a bride.

Lingerie-Inspired
Simultaneously sultry and sweet, lingerie elements have broken out of theĀ boudoir and into bridal. And this season, designers welcomed them more warmly than ever. Think corset bodices, slinky slip dresses, oh-so-sheer fabrics,Ā plunging necklines, and dangerouslyĀ high slits à la Angelina Jolie.

(Off the) Shoulder Details
Go and brush your shoulder off. It's your day, after all. Necklines were off the shoulder and all over the runway this season. The modest-meets-sexy, collarbone-bearing bridal look calls to mind style iconsĀ like Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, while all at once being decidedly modern. We saw updates on the trend, including embroidered illusion necklines, capes with 3-D detailing, and sleeves with peekaboo slits.
