Rainbow Row Charleston

Recently I got to head down to Charleston for their Wedding Week-and now I know why it's such a popular place for weddings! It's a great city that offers so much. Here are some of the highlights from my trip.

Dewberry Hotel Gift Box

I stayed at the Dewberry Hotel while in Charleston and was greeted with a wonderful gift box courtesy of the team behind Wedding Week-it's true what they say about Southern hospitality!

Celebrate Everything!

I had a book signing for my book, Celebrate Everything! at the William Aiken House, a popular wedding location, complete with a cocktail party.

Diamonds Direct

I loved meeting everyone who was down there for wedding week, including the folks from Diamonds Direct who came with their jewels on hand.

Charleston dinner party

Tara Guerard hosted a dinner for Mindy Weiss and I at The Dewberry. It was so beautiful, it almost felt like a wedding dinner itself!

velvet dinner party menus

Talk about personalization! The Lettered Olive did embossed velvet menus with everyone's name and initials. The linens from La Tavola even provided the softest, velvet-like tablecloths to match!

marble place cards

The placecards were also personalized with calligraphy by J. Lilly Design and make great paperweights after the meal.

Ooh Events warehouse

On my quick trip to Charleston, after the beautiful dinner, Ooh Events opened up their warehouse and I got to see everything that you can rent today for weddings-everything from sofas to chandeliers and every color of vintage crystal to mix and match. It was fun to see familiar pieces that have been at weddings I've seen in the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings.

Ooh Events owner and planner

Thanks so much for owner Lisa Thomas and event coordinator Candice Beaty, who showed me around. They do everything from full scale décor and design, event planning, rentals, flowers and even makeup services!

Mac & Murphy stationery

Next, I visited Mac & Murphy-I can't pass up a visit to a local stationery store owned by someone like Liz Macpherson who has exquisite taste!

On my last morning there, before I headed to the airport I got to stop by the breakfast catered by Cannon Green where Calder Clark, Lynn Easton and Tara Guerard were giving a planning summit talk. Overall, my experience in Charleston was one-of-a-kind, and I can't wait to head back.
