Blake Lively's "Galentine's Day" Party Was Pure Bridal Shower Inspiration
Blake Lively stepped out for some girl time this week ahead of celebrating Valentine's Day with her hubby, Ryan Reynolds. In cahoots with L'Oréal, the actress threw a Leslie Knope-coined "Galentine's Day" with her sister Robyn Lively and friends.
"L'Oréal told me this idea they had to have a Valentine's event with your gals-your best girlfriends," the actress told E! News. And being who she is, the star couldn't help but get swept up in planning. "I thought, 'Right now, more than ever, it's so great that women are coming together and supporting each other and building each other up.' I got a little too involved. I said, 'I don't really just want to show up. I sort of want to plan it,'" the star revealed.
The end result? Some incredible bridal shower inspiration-because what is a bridal party if not a celebration of sisterhood?
The video above shows pretty floral arrangements, an interactive mirror, and a friendship bracelet-making station, plus plenty of lovey-dovey décor that screams pre-wedding.
For her part, Lively Instagrammed event snapshots with what looks like a Polaroid camera-another great idea for celebrating with your gals.
"Feb 13: Tonight's the night. Grab your best gal. I love my man. But on this valentines, I celebrate women. Time to party..."wrote the host, and we couldn't think of a better mantra for your all-girls celebration.
Our former real-wedding bride also provided some festive outfit inspo, wearing a heart-and-dot dress that was both fun and flirty. If that's not sweet enough, her hair was half-up in a romantic shape, offering gorgeous beauty inspo to boot.
Although this day was meant for the girls, Lively indulged E! News in her later plans with hubby Ryan Reynolds. "We haven't really planned anything yet," she said of her and Reynolds, and as a working parents of two, can we really blame them? But she still thinks her guy is "the luckiest man ever," considering he has not one, not two, but three valentines this year: her and their daughters, James and Ines.
"My family is everything," the The Shallows lead shared, which is why she had no problem taking in her big sister for the special day, too. "I got to borrow her from her husband," she explained, referencing Robyn's stay with her and Reynolds in upstate New York this week.
