"Big Bang Theory" Star Jim Parsons Hosted an Unplugged Wedding
There wasn't a cell phone in sight.
Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and his longtime partner Todd Spiewak tied the knot this weekend, and their New York City celebration looked nothing short of spectacular. And now guests of the wedding, including Parsons' costar Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Fowler on the sitcom, are dishing on the celebration, proving it was just as incredible as it seemed. Balik shared a photo of the newlyweds walking hand in hand down the aisle, adding a caption that described the best parts of the couple's wedding, including that it was an unplugged event!
"What a wedding," Bialik started off her caption with. "Not a cell phone in sight. Everyone was so present which sounds pretentious but it was truly powerful for us all to just want to be there fully. Todd and @therealjimparsons, you are so loved." With just that small detail, we know that the actor and graphic designer really wanted to make the moment as special for their guests as it was for them. (And they're not the only pair we've seen recently who requested that guests put away their cell phones. Former New York Jets player Kerry Rhodes and Australian actress Nicky Whelan also had an unplugged wedding just last month!)
To end her caption, Bialik made sure to mention the chuppah in the background of her photo (something we couldn't help but notice, too!). "Also: hands down, prettiest chupah ever. Seriously," she wrote, also closing it off with two hashtags, "#chupahlove" and "#yourlove".
Parsons also shared a few more photos on his own Instagram account yesterday of his first dance with Spiewak, showing him and his partner holding hands on the dance floor in their second outfits of the day. For the reception, the grooms wore complementary white and red tuxedo jackets and matching bow ties. Now that's some serious style.
