Ariana Grande is no longer planning a wedding, but she dressed up like a bride for a performance of her latest single, "Thank U, Next." In fact, the entire routine, which aired on Ellen yesterday, looked exactly like a wedding reception, complete with a towering wedding cake, dinner tables, and tall orchids centerpieces. Even the performer's ensemble felt distinctly bridal. Grande and her backup singers, Victoria Monét and Tayla Park, dressed in all-white for the event-the pop star even held a matching bouquet.

The set and costumes were inspired by an iconic scene from the movie First Wives Club, in which the characters-played by Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn-sing and dance to "You Don't Own Me" by Lesley Gore. Like Grande's crew, the actresses wore head-to-toe white for the scene and danced around similar props (guest tables and centerpieces, included!).

Grande's newest break-up anthem pays tribute to the men she's dated, including her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson, and the empowered woman she's now become. The song may be about her past relationships, but her lyrics clearly indicate that she hopes to find lasting love in the future: "One day I'll walk down the aisle/ Holding hands with my mama/ I'll be thanking my dad/ 'Cause she grew from the drama/ Only wanna do it once, real bad."

If her lyrics are any indication, the wedding she spent the summer planning likely inspired her latest hit-and gave her inspiration for the celebration she'll throw down the line. After all, Grande was incredibly energized by the planning process: "I work so much [that] I've never spent this much time or energy planning something personal that feeds my soul so much and my heart," she told Good Morning America earlier this year.
