Kate Middleton is no stranger to finding new ways to re-wear outfits-so it was unsurprising that her Easter Sunday ensemble was also a repeat. According to People, Middleton wore the same light blue Alexander McQueen look she sported four Easters ago. This time, however, she accessorized with something that made the outfit a little more meaningful.

Royal fans were quick to notice the Duchess wearing the same Robinson Pelham earrings she donned for her 2011 wedding to Prince William. The diamond pieces feature stylized oak leaves with a pear-cut diamond drop and a suspended diamond acorn at its center. The earrings were specially made to pay homage to Kate's coat of arms-and complement the Cartier halo tiara that she wore for her walk down the aisle.

We have a theory as to why Middleton chose this particular moment to break out this special jewelry. Her and Prince Williams' eighth wedding anniversary-which falls on April 29-is just one week away. The couple first met in 2001 while attending the University of St. Andrews. Middleton told The Telegraph in 2010 that she felt very nervous and shy when she first met the royal. "Well I actually think I went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy about meeting you," she said. "Actually William wasn't there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn't there for Freshers Week, so it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other but we did become very close friends from quite early on."

Since then, the couple has tackled their royal duties as a team. In an interview with ITV in 2016, the Duchess said that she is grateful for her supportive husband. "But I think to have the support of your husband there by your side on those occasions-and behind closed doors as well-I think is really special," she said.
