Who doesn't love an effortless wavy hairstyle? The ironic part of this now-ubiquitous phrase, of course, is that waves aren't always effortless—a great deal of time, dedication, and product are often needed to get just the right amount of perfect, undone texture. But if you're lucky enough to be able to get a good wave going, chances are it looks amazing—waves are one hairstyle that's universally flattering!
That's why it should come as very little surprise that waves are becoming an incredibly popular hairstyle, especially when it comes to weddings. We love the look of a gorgeous, polished wedding dress offset with a hairstyle that's beachy and low-key. (It's all about balance!) Luckily, whether or not you were born with natural waves in your hair, there are lots of products that can help you either enhance what you already have, or create a bit of texture where it's not there (even without the help of hairspray and a curling iron).
It all starts in the shower with shampoo, as there are texture- and wave-promoting ingredients that shampoos are now filled with. (When we use texture-creating shampoos, we hardly need to use any other styling product. But experiment for yourself—everyone's hair is different, of course.) Sea salt sprays are the OG beach-wave maker, and they're now even better than before, as many won't make your hair as crunchy as they did when they first came out. Texture powders, wave sprays, creams, and mousses are also all widely available, so whatever your product preference, there's something on the market for you.
Here, we've rounded up some of the best wave-making products, so that you can create the perfect waves for your wedding day.
