Garth Brooks Is Paying for a Lucky Couple's Honeymoon
As long as it's in Hawaii, that is!
Garth Brooks is currently on tour and hosted a show in Oklahoma on Saturday evening, but it wasn't a standard concert. In the middle of the event, the singer made one couple's night-and no, it wasn't just by singing his country songs. When one brave fan proposed to his girlfriend in the crowd, Brooks took the opportunity to get in on the joy.
A groom-to-be popped the question to his now-fiancée while Brooks was performing his hit, "Unanswered Prayers." When the artist caught wind of the concert proposal, he stopped the show to celebrate. "Where do you want to go on your honeymoon?" Brooks asked. "No idea? Well, I tell you what, if you pick Hawaii, Miss Yearwood and I will pay for it, okay?" Trisha Yearwood, the singer's wife and tour partner, was totally onboard. "Sure, absolutely. Congratulations-but nobody else can get engaged tonight," she joked.
Sportswriter Brooke Pryor of The Oklahoman caught the whole thing on camera. Her tweets show the generous gesture in action, if you're dying to take a look. Brooks knows a thing or two about public proposals, having asked Yearwood to marry him in front of thousands of viewers. The singers got engaged at a statue unveiling, and wed in 2005, reports People.
Congrats to the lucky couple-we bet they weren't expecting that!
