You'll Laugh When You See the Card Danielle Brooks Gave Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli Before Their Wedding
People are hyped up on Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli's wedding-as they very well should be! While we were fawning over their wedding fashion, party theme, and adorable relationship, another (less-serious) detail from their celebration slipped under the radar: The amazing card Danielle Brooks of Orange Is the New Black gave the couple!
The hilarious note wished the brides-to-be a wedding free of one very annoying attendee. The guest in question? Aunt Flo. Wiley Instagrammed the card on Monday, which read, "May you both not have your periods on your wedding day." "Thank you," she captioned the shout out to Brooks. "You get us."
Anyone can guess why a wedding day might work best if it didn't fall on that time of the month. Um, hello, white-and-impossible-to-hike-up dresses! Oh, and all of those lovely symptoms, like bloating, cramps, and acne-no thanks. These brides were double at risk, and we can only imagine the hassle of using the bathroom wearing Morelli's jumpsuit. Brooks clearly knew that the struggle would be real.
Obviously, the message resonated with fans, putting what many have thought into too-true words. Approvers were quick to applaud Brooks' choice in cards, filling Wiley's comments section with endless emojis laughing (and crying) in amusement. @abbysnow wrote "this is GOLD," and @jayy_boww summed up how we feel about this entire wedding: "HAHAHA how has this whole thing actually surpassed perfection[?]" We guess that's just what you get when a great couple (with great friends) gets married.
We're looking forward to hearing more from the newlyweds-keep those Instagrams coming!
