Ed Sheeran's Fiancée Just Flashed Her Engagement Ring in London
Get a first look at Cherry Seaborn's favorite new accessory.
When Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn announced their engagement on Instagram earlier this week, they left out a very important detail-the bride-to-be's engagement ring! Luckily, Seaborn was photographed in London wearing her new diamond and, even from afar, it's clear that the ring is a beauty. Originally posted on People, the photos of the ring aren't incredibly sharp, but you can make out what appears to be an oval-shaped diamond flanked by smaller stones on either side and set on a white gold or platinum band.
The beautiful stone is simply a reflection of the couple's beautiful relationship. Sheeran and Seaborn met when the singer was 11-they grew up in the same hometown and actually attended high school together. It wasn't until 2015, though, that their friendship turned romantic. "She worked on Wall Street in New York, and I had like six shows [around New York in 2015]. It was around then, and we reconnected," he told People in March. When he and Seaborn ended up in Rhode Island for 4th of July parties (Sheeran was at Taylor Swift's!), he made his move: "I kinda said to Taylor, 'Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?' The rest is history."
Since their relationship began, Seaborn has become a muse for Sheeran's music-he recently share that his hit track "Perfect" was inspired by his future wife. "It was one of the fastest songs that I'd written. It just kind of came out," he told Ellen DeGeneres. "It's the first song I wrote for the album and I'm not really sick of it-I still listen to it."
On January 19, Sheeran and Seaborn revealed that they'd gotten engaged at the end of 2017. "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well," Sheeran wrote in an Instagram post.
