Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Consider Their Wedding Destination "Home"
The couple will always come back to Lake Como.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend held their 2013 wedding in Italy. "One of the first vacations we took together was Lake Como," Legend told us, "so we thought it would be nice to marry where we fell in love." Since then, the couple's returned many times, and they're finally explaining why.
"It's just a place we feel at home," Teigen recently told People. "It's really nice to be able to walk into a hotel and have people know what you love and know your family. They know we got married there, they know Italy is so close to our heart," she added. Teigen also said that she loves the local language: "It's like they're singing Italian. Everything's a song." Plus, "the food is incredible, of course, and they just knock it out of the park every single time."
Last summer, the couple traveled to Lake Como with daughter Luna. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Teigen shared more about the meaning of the location. "Back to where it all began - Lake Como, Italy - first came here in 2007," she wrote. "A boat tour guide took us to a little spot on the lake and told us to make a wish. I asked for this to be the man I marry and have children with. I think John asked for the most perfect bite of cacio e pepe. Both came true, and here we are." On that trip, they visited the house where Legend and Teigen filmed "All of Me."
This summer, they were back in Italy, proving it really is "just like home."
