Oprah Winfrey Just Bought One of Her Former Students a $10,000 Wedding Dress

Oprah Winfrey is known for her many accolades, but if there is one thing she's famous for, it's giving. The talk show host recently outdid herself after taking a few of her former students on a wedding dress shopping spree in Beverly Hills, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the outlet, Winfrey shut down the Saks Beverly Hills bridal studio and bought one student a $10,000 wedding dress. "I've known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school," she captioned an Instagram post. "Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding. Looking for the perfect dress." The photo shows the three students holding up a long-sleeve, beaded gown.
The three girls who were treated to the shopping excursion were all part of the inaugural class at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, a girls-only boarding school for women who hail from impoverished communities in remote, rural areas. Winfrey opened the school in 2007, which is when she made a promise to Nelson Mandela that she would attend the graduations of the first group of girls. Now, she's seeing these women through their weddings. The media mogul's generosity didn't stop there. After the wedding dress shopping excursion, Winfrey treated the trio to lunch at Spago, a luxury restaurant in Beverly Hills owned by Wolfgang Puck.
Like her strong loyalty to women's education, Winfrey is also committed to something (someone, we should say!) else-her relationship to longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham. The couple has been together for over 30 years and doesn't intend on tying the knot anytime soon-but Graham wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm with a very special person who is-she's just so unbelievable," Stedman told CNN in 2012. "I just support her in her life. And she supports me in my life."
