No matter what you're wearing, the right shade of nail polish can be transformative in a chic, subtle way. You've seen it before: Whether it's a girl on the street or a celebrity on the red carpet, it's been proven time and time again that a gorgeous, brightly colored dress with a juxtaposing nail polish makes the look that much better. It just adds a bit more interest to it, and the mix can even be more powerful when you're working with a blank slate, like, say, a white wedding dress.

For your wedding, nail color is an easy way to infuse your personality, surroundings, setting, mood, or the day's overall ambience into your look. That being said, it's also important to note that this trick works especially well for a fall wedding, a time when you can much more easily add dark colors into your look with a flick of your fingers. Think: dark red shades like bordeaux for black-tie weddings (and for brides who would otherwise wear classic red!). Deep purples are perfect for city brides who want to add a bit of edge into their look.

If you want to add your "something blue" into your wedding aesthetic via your nail polish, however, you can do that, too: Instead of choosing a classic pale blue (that fits in more during the spring and summer months), go for something that's more gray-based and dusty. Metallic nail polish shades are a particular set that work year-round, regardless of month or season: a pretty gold is also great for evening weddings, but if you're having an outdoor garden wedding, it can also look gorgeous, catching the light among the natural, gorgeous autumnal palette outside.

Here, ten pretty nail polish shades to wear for your fall nuptials.
