Chrissy Teigen Took John Legend on a Date in Their Backyard to Celebrate Father's Day
The hilarious couple is more in love than ever.
After nearly seven years of marriage and two kids later, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen still know how to keep date night fresh—even from their backyard. The hilarious couple took to social media to honor each other after Chrissy planned a Father's Day celebration for John from the comfort of their home. "For Father's Day, my queen made me feel like a king. She knows how I love to get dressed up and go out on a date," the singer captioned a post on Instagram. "We haven't been able to do it for months so she planned a special dinner for us in our backyard. I love you, @chrissyteigen. I'm so grateful to be the father of your children."
Chrissy jokingly wrote on her own Instagram account that she was happy the celebration went off without a hitch: "When you have never done anything for your husband for Father's Day, the one time you do, he has the BEST Father's Day!"
John and Chrissy typically share major marriage milestones with their fans, but these little things also define the couple's relationship for the better. The model recently noted another small act that brought them closer together: John took a brief break from work obligations last year to be there for her—even just for a few hours. This meant the world to her, E! News reported. "I do not normally brag about John, as it is my schtick to make fun of him always, but he flew from London to L.A. instead of London to D.C. to have dinner with me and watch Love Island UK because I haven't been feeling like myself lately," she wrote on Twitter. "Just a few hours but it meant a lot. Thank u."
The pair's bond is truly unbreakable, they say—so long as they keep laughing. John previously noted that it was Chrissy's funny personality that stole his heart at the dawn of their relationship. "She just entertained the hell out of me, texting me. What people respond to in her tweets today was the same energy in those texts," he shared in an interview with Vanity Fair. "I didn't know that I wanted someone funny until I was actually with someone funny."
