Meghan Markle Has Chosen Her Wedding Dress Designer
And she's already had her first fitting!
We're one step closer to seeing Meghan Markle in a wedding dress. With just four months to go until the royal wedding takes place, the bride-to-be has finally chosen her dress designer-and she's already had her first fitting. "We have a wedding dress designer," royal reporter Omid Scobie told ABC News. "Meghan flew in her close friend and bridal stylist Jessica Mulroney from Toronto to London last weekend where she attended a top-secret fitting at Kensington Palace with the designer."
Scobie said that while Markle hasn't decided on her actual wedding dress, she "tried on a number of different designs" and is now "whittling it down to pick the best design for the day." There's been lots of speculation on the type of gown Markle will choose, but you can expect something "classy and very elegant," the royal reporter said. "During the process, Meghan expressed the desire to wear something simple and classy and very elegant," he continued. "I think we'll see her go down that route for the wedding day as well." An E! News source revealed that Markle was interested in "design elements [like] embroidery and sleeves" and that only five people know the identity of her designer.
Harry was around the castle on the day of Markle's fitting, but reportedly steered clear to give his future wife and Mulroney (her prospective maid of honor!) some privacy. "Harry made himself scarce, giving the girls plenty of private time to kind of have their meetings with the designers and, of course, choose other wedding elements," Scobie said. "Harry's kind of made it clear that he wants to make this about Meghan."
While the couple has yet to send out formal invitations, their nuptials are definitely coming together. "Harry has actually put on the top of his list his good friend Ed Sheeran to perform at the after-party," Us Weekly magazine editor-in-chief Jennifer Peros told "Good Morning America." Prince George and Princess Charlotte will take on the respective roles of page boy and flower girl. While unconfirmed, it's likely that Prince William will stand beside his brother as best man.
