All of our favorite wedding dress designers shared a sneak peek at their newest designs and shared what inspired their latest looks.

There's no better time than right now to be engaged. Why? Fall 2019 Bridal Fashion Week is just around the corner, and that means we're about to be treated to a whole array of brand-new, beautiful wedding dresses. Twice a year, bridal fashion designers debut their latest collections in New York City, giving brides-to-be a first look at the trends to watch for. But before they do that, they give Martha Stewart Weddings an inside look at their wedding dress designs and the inspiration behind each new collection.
This season, 62 designers gave us a sneak peek at what's to come, and you can trust us when we say the looks do not disappoint. One overarching trend? Old Hollywood glamour, which multiple designers site as this season's inspiration. Statement-making silhouettes, long trains, and vintage-inspired details that any big screen starlet would have love to wear are all on order. Another form of inspiration that came up over and over again? Nature. From flowers to the seasons, many of these bridal fashion designers looked outside for new ideas. But those aren't the only ways these designers were inspired as they created their newest wedding dresses. One collection was inspired by (and named after!) a Rolling Stones song; another used today's modern bride as its muse; others still were inspired by favorite places, including Iceland, Oregon, and a family ranch in Idaho.
To see how all of these ideas came to life, click through to check out sketches and inspiration from our favorite bridal designers, then check back to see how your wedding dresses came to life on the runways.

Alexandra Grecco
For her latest collection, designer Alexandra Grecco drew inspiration from a recent vacation in Italy. "One of my favorite memories was walking through an olive grove, listening to the crickets and taking in the untamed beauty of it all, which led to the inspiration for this collection," she says. "I wanted the gowns to feel really wild with lots of bold floral embroideries." Tying the knot in a wild garden? Then you'll connect with Grecco's latest designs, which she says were created with this specific venue type in mind. Â

"It's an ode to dramatic simplicity; clean lines, fresh textures, and classic details converge to create gowns that are simultaneously modern yet timeless," Webb explains. This season, the designer drew inspiration from an unexpected muse: the fabrics themselves. Expect to see plenty of French micro sequins, Italian floral jacquards, and silk faille. And, as evidenced by this sketch, there will be at least one incredibly architectural number in the collection.
