Prince William and Kate Middleton's Christmas celebrations are officially underway. According to Us Weekly, this particular holiday season will be "extra special" for the couple-after all, it's their first time celebrating as a family of five.

A source told the outletthat William and Kate plan on going "all out" for their children this holiday. "It's important to them that their kids share childhood traditions like their school pals," the insider revealed. "They're going all-out to make it extra special." Though we don't know exactly what William and Kate have in store for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the children are likely anticipating their presents. According to tradition, the royal family lays out their gifts on trestle tables on Christmas Eve and exchanges them at teatime the following day.

To kick off the merriment, William, Kate, and their children-along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are currently expecting a baby-visited Buckingham Palace yesterday for the Queen's annual Christmas Luncheon, reports People. Although over 50 royal family members participated in the event, a much shorter guest list has been invited to Sandringham House, where the royal family resides from Christmas to New Year's Day. Though many news outlets speculated that Meghan's Markle, Doria Ragland, would travel to Sandringham to spend the holiday with her daughter, she will not, in fact, be in attendance. According to Newsweek, Ragland will remain in Los Angeles, where she resides.

Regardless, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking forward to the holidays with those they love most. "They really loved Christmas and all had a wonderful time," a source told People of the family's last holiday season. "It was a really special time for them all to spend together."
