Get ready to fall in love with the best of the Fall 2017 bridal collections.

As Fall 2017 Bridal Fashion Week wraps up, we're turning our attention to the trends that, well, caught our attention. Of all the gorgeous wedding dresses that designers sent down the runways, 10 concepts stood out. Surprising new "bridal" colors and details left us seriously inspired, and inventive takes on classic silhouettes elevated the traditional wedding dress into the unexpected. Feminine, flowing flounces of fabric maximized movement on the runway, while asymmetrical cuts and graphic motifs like bows added an avant-garde appeal to otherwise minimalist moments (we're looking at you, Oscar de la Renta and Viktor&Rolf).
From iconic fashion houses including Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, and Naeem Khan, to newer names like Kaviar Gauche and Odylyne the Ceremony, designers were especially innovative this season—challenging the very idea of what it means to be "bridal". Sleeves saw a major comeback this season (Vera Wang and Alon Livné), with bell and bishop shapes (or as Hayley Paige renamed them, "dreamcatcher sleeves") making a big statement. Metallic shades and capes, such as those in Inbal Dror's and YolanCris's collections, continue to carry bridal into the regal realm, and the "naked" wedding dress trend took new form in peek-a-boo panels and cutouts. Off-the-shoulder necklines turned heads, as did one-of-a-kind open backs fit for a grand getaway.
Get inspired by all the fresh new looks from the Fall 2017 wedding dress collections.

Asymmetry
Uniformity will always be "in" in bridal, but offbeat brides might meet their match in these atypical, asymmetrical wedding dresses. From one-shoulder necklines to uneven skirt details, the runways were filled with one-of-a-kind designs fit for free-spirited brides who don't adhere to an equation when it comes to their style. Because the only thing that needs to be centered on your wedding day is you.Â

Off the Shoulder
The cold shoulder never looked better. Off-the-shoulder wedding dresses combine the slinkiness of a strapless with the chicness of sleeves. Plus, a peek at the collarbone is always a bonus for blushing brides. This trend was popular last season, and the new collections made it clear that it's here to stay. These wedding dresses strike a sweet chord between innocence and elegance and echo the essence of the '50s and '60s, with modern adjustments, of course.

Metallic
Sometimes, there are certain colors that catch our eyes across the collections. Last season, pinks and greens were suitable tones for spring. Now, as we shift into fall and winter, shades that shine are all too appropriate. Enter the Fall 2017 hues to choose: silver and gold (and copper and rose gold). Metallic laces and brocade prints promise a lustrous bridal look, as do flashes of radiant embroidery and shimmering sequins, beads, and crystals.

Bows
Bows are big right now—and we mean that literally. Of course, we saw a range of sizes, including dainty, delicate little lovelies adorning ball gowns and fastening sashes of empire waists. Louder and prouder were the structural takes on the trend, in which designers mounted the modern motif on sleeves, trains, and more. Either way, the accent is fun and feminine and 100% wedding-worthy.

All About the Back
Bridal designers threw it back this season—not to an earlier era, but to the side of the gown that traditionally gets a little less love in photos. Ironically, a bride's back is what her guests will see most throughout the ceremony and as she makes her getaway from the reception. So why not give them (and more importantly, the groom) a va-va-voom view? Whether ball gowns bursting with texture in the train, figure-flattering forms that highlight your *assets*, or open or illusion backs that draw the eye, these wedding dresses are guaranteed to help you make a grand exit.

Tiers
Some of the best things in life have layers: Your soul mate, your wedding cake...and if you subscribe to this season's trend, your wedding dress can, too. Rather than one smooth sheath, think skirts with stacks of ruffles or tulle, rows of lace, or sleeves festooned in fringe and beading. At once classic and contemporary, playful and sophisticated, the feminine flounces of these wedding dresses call to mind the tender tiers of Parisian pastries. And with each level sweeter than the next—without being overly saccharine—we couldn't help but consider the confectionery implications. Dig in!

Vertical Ruffles
Some styles stuck to horizontal layers, but designers also tried turning the trend on its head this season. Strips of chiffon, Chantilly lace, and tulle sewn vertically along the length of the skirts emphasize movement, fluttering to and fro all the way down the aisle. Reminiscent of ocean waves, the cascading effect is elongating by nature, whether on A-line or mermaid wedding dresses.Â

Capes
Toss the tiara: a cape is the only accessory you need to look (even more) like royalty on your day. Bridal designers topped their wedding dresses with trailing capes and capelets that elevate the look from romantic to downright regal. Some are simple and lightweight, others ornate with shoulder embellishments, but all sure to make a statement.
